Interesting facts
This jackfish has dark vertical lines (5 or 6 of them) and a very open tail. It travels in school near the bottom. It is an excellent predator, fine tuned for speed. When we encounter one on its own, we know it is on the hunt. These fish eat crustaceans, mollusks, and small fish. It is seen up to 200 feet deep in zones that have sand and in coral heads of the lagoons and passes.
