Interesting facts
The Bluefin trevally (or Blue jackfish) has a blue metallic color with iridescent yellow spots and speckled with black, its fins are also blue. It can measure up to 40 inches, but the average is 24 inches. This fish hunts at dawn and dusk in groups in passes and along the outer reef slope, looking for their favorite preys: crustaceans and fish. The young stay mostly in the shallow lagoon Due to the high risk of ciguatera poisoning, its flesh is not edible in French polynesia.
