Interesting facts

This fish favors shallow areas with sandy bottoms in atolls. Schools of several dozen individuals can be seen but this fish is generally solitary. In high islands, it can be found in the turbid waters of mangroves. They eat benthic invertebrates, molluscs, and small crustaceans. Its body is long and covered with small scales very closely spaced with a forked tail.
