Interesting facts
The common parrotfish also called Palenose parrotfish is a diurnal animal that sleeps at night, some of them hide in holes while others cover themselves with mucus to hide from predators. They are the primary living producers of coral sand. They spend more than 90% of their time eating, primarily green algae that grows on coral as well as the coral polyps. The males and females are easily recognizable by their different colours.
