Interesting facts

Adults Convicted Surgeonfish are found in the lagoon near the reef. The young are abundant in tide pool. It is recognizable by its light yellow body and five thin, black, vertical lines which change based on its mood (defense, spawn, etc.) The convicted surgeonfish is a benthopelagic specie. This fish occasionally forms schools and feeds on large aggregations of filamentous algae. During egg laying, the clouds of eggs and sperm are predated by leopard rays. Their maximum size is 11 inches.
