This moray eel is one of the most massive eels in Polynesia. We can find it on the external slope up to 165 feet everywhere in the lagoon. It is a rather nocturnal animal that will exit its hideout to chase interesting prey. It is a common specie in our waters, and a frequent carrier of ciguatera. It eats fish, crabs, and squid.
