Interesting facts
This small damselfish gets its name from its favorite habitat. In fact, it likes the rough areas of the lagoon, where the waves break. It is easy to recognize by its yellow body crossed by a wide electric blue band. At nightfall, it can take on a darker color to camouflage itself. It is often encountered in small groups, and always stays close to its shelter. Quite territorial, it can be aggressive if another fish enters its feeding area. Omnivorous, it feeds on both algae and small crustaceans.
