Yellowbanded Pipefish

This pipefish lives in shallow lagoons. One has to pay close attention to discern this fish on the substrates covered in a thin layer of algae. It is pale with black and yellow lines. It eats copepods and travels alone or in small schools. It is not shy so easily approachable. This fish and seahorses are part of the same family: syngnathidae.
