The sea anemone is the exclusive home of clownfish and can house up to 12. The specific sea anemone is kept track of thanks to its scent. The sea anemone has tentacles in the form of fingers that are up to 3 in (8cm) long. It is monochrome and ranges from orange to salmon. Its tentacles sting and can cause burns. It lives in well lit areas and in currents between 16 and 66 feet (5-20m) deep, attached to a hard substrate. The anemone, like coral, lives in symbiosis with zooxanthellae who photosynthesize to provide it food. It is also a carnivire that catches its prey with its tentacles.
