Interesting facts

This jackfish is the largest of French Polynesia. It has a silver body with metallic reflections and a broad, curved head. Like all jackfish, their body is shaped for speed; this fish is extremely powerful, has a series of specialized, thick and pointy scales near its caudal peduncle which makes it more hydrodynamic and increases its agility. It travels alone or in small groups and is found everywhere between 3 and 325 feet deep sometimes in small crevices in the reef looking for prey (crustaceans and other fish).
