Transportation to and from the atoll

Ferry

The ferry is located at the pier of the Intercontinental Resort in Tahiti (map below). The Ferry is operated by TMT (Transport maritime de Tetiaroa).

Fee: The fee for one way is 6825 XPF TTC

Schedule: 

Departures from Tahiti (PPT) to Tetiaroa (TTI) are every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9:00am.
Departures from Tetiaroa are the same days (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) at 1:00pm.
The boat crossing takes approximately 3 hours.
Check-in is required 30 minutes before departure.

TMT Policy:

  • You are allowed to take 2 to 3 suitcases of 23kg each maximum. Any additional luggage will need to be send by barge
  • Only sealed luggage will be accepted on the ferry.
  • Make sure to bring an identification document / passport with you. If the ferry shuttle is canceled at the last minute, we will automatically reschedule you on an Air Tetiaroa flight the same day.
  • Additional luggage or equipment that cannot be transported on the Friday ferry will not be stored over the weekend for the Monday barge.

Barge - for additional luggage and bulky material

The Barge is located at the pier of the Intercontinental Resort in Tahiti (map above). The barge is operated by TMT (Transport maritime de Tetiaroa).

Fees: The barge fees are 24.5 XPF/kg.

From Tahiti the barge is loaded every Monday and Wednesday between 8:00am to 11:00am.  TMT crew members (wearing blue uniforms labeled 'TMT') will be on-site during this time to receive your luggage. The delivery to Tetiaroa will be made the next day. Arrival time on Tetiaroa depends on the weather conditions, but typically occur around 8:00am.

From Tetiaroa the barge is loaded on Tuesday and Thursday between 8:00am to 11:00am. The delivery to Tahiti will be made the next day. Arrival time on Tahiti depends on the weather conditions, but arrivals are typically around 12:30pm.

Before dropping off your luggage, familiarize yourself with the Guide to Import Restrictions, and fill in the Declaration form on page 2 of that document.

TMT Policy:

  • Only sealed luggage will be accepted on the barge.
  • No luggage or materials can be stored on the dock outside of the specified time range for the next barge departure. If this occurs, please understand that you are responsible for your personal belongings. Neither TS nor TMT will take responsibility for lost, stolen, or damaged items left unattended on the dock.

Notice Regarding Luggage Protection: 

Your luggage may be exposed to spray, rain, and sea moisture during the crossing. To prevent any damage to your equipment or luggage, please ensure that they are properly packaged or protected.


Plane

Important Note: The fare class applied does not guarantee the reservation and/or boarding of luggage. You may therefore be disembarked from a flight at any time depending on the evolution of hotel customer reservations, changes in aircraft, weather conditions that may affect the load offered, etc.

Fee: 10 000 XPF/TTC

Luggage: is limited to a maximum of 10kg.
Any additional luggage needs to be sent by barge during the specified time range mentioned above.
Please note that any additional luggage or equipment that cannot be transported on the plane will not be stored over the weekend for the Monday barge.

Air Tetiaroa Policy:
Read carefully the document “Information for Collaborators and Service Providers - Air Tetiaroa
